It seems that clicking the report button doesn't bring up any sort of confirmation and doesn't allow you to enter a reason to why you're reporting a post. This behavior should probably be changed to save moderators from dealing with confusing accidental reports.

Misago is not asking for report reason in order to make reporting quick process for reporters.
As for confirmation after report is made, there should be be tooltip above the link with message that post has been reported.

Anyway, user should be able to dismiss that report within a few minutes. Especially, when it's so easy to report accidently.

I noticed that when I click to report a post, there seems to be a message at the top of the page, but it barely shows, so I have no idea what message the system is relaying. Just a bar about 5px high appears at the top of the page.

That bar is not message bar. Its "processing" bar, same one that you can see here.
