Or you could just use software that doesn't have these exploits to begin with.

Fun fact: XSS exploits are on websites, not in your software. Only a few months ago, WordPress got a security update which basically fixed an issue that enabled any visitor to embed malicious JavaScript code directly into the comments. Have fun avoiding all WordPress sites...

    Okay, I'll have a blast.

... which is why there are so many botnets. It should be off by default!

    You are kidding, yes?

No, I am not. How many examples of malicious things prevented by disabling JavaScript do you need before you accept that JavaScript is not a harmless annoyance anymore? The web would be a safer place if everyone would have to enable JavaScript where it fits instead of being a potential victim because of poor XSS protection.

Why do you think JavaScript is not a problem?

Ah, yes, the modern web which allows me to actually decide where I want to enable JavaScript. It makes me sad that you are so naive though. Must be your country.

Hahaha, yes. If you like war-driving assholes and capitalism. I, for one, don't.

Now back to my question: Why do you think JavaScript - a giant intruding door - should be enabled by everyone everywhere, even on malicious websites?

Irony to the max: post noting irony and announcing fix shows that bug moved to even edgier case ;)

I've went nuclear with test for that edgy pager, bug running it against all possible permutations (testing 256 combinations for paging 16 items).
