How long does it take to approve the transfer?
Translated 2% of the word Russian words and not who did not check.
I believe its up to rafalp to decide when to transfer the language .po files to the main project repository, when he estimates it is good enough.
Meanwhile, you can download the russian .po files, put them in your the misago 'locale' directory and compile them to see the changes on your forum. (See rafalp first post in this category).
P'much. My time's limited, and I would like to avoid spending it on merging incomplete translations non-stop ;) When you hit 100% with both django.po
and djangojs.po
, I'll happily include translation within Misago so its easier to access for endusers and testers.
Short question.
What does mean "Split post into new thread" ? "Selected post was split into new thread."?
More specifically: when you split smth, you get several objects. Or 'thread' is always singular in these sentences, so i'm wondering if there is a specific meaning of this... or if it should be 'threads' in all these sentences.
Those messages are written the way they are, because in the UI they are displayed within the context of posts singled out by the user from larger collection of all posts within thread. You could change "split" for "split out" into this message for more verbosity, but I'm trying to keep UI messages as short as possible with translation to longer languages in mind.
Please approve my join request on transifex
Thanks for your fast responses. I've completed the Chinese translation of django.po and djangojs.po and I've improved its consistency of the original one and made it more idiomatic.
It seems unnecessary to translate the django05.po file. Am I correct? If so, why not removing it from the translation project?
BTW, the user experience of transifex really failed my expectation.The "Glossary" and "Find/Replace" functionality aren't working properly for Chinese language.
Anyway, I'll keep improving the translation and I'll let you know when it's perfect enough to make the pull request.
It's here for historical purposes. Some languages have quite a bit translated, and this file is hangin around in case translators would want to look it up for quick reference.
BYW, the user experience of transifex really failed my expectation.The "Glossary" and "Find/Replace" functionality aren't working properly for Chinese language.
Misago's Transifex is weird story. It was created by person that had zero association with me or Misago. One sunny day I've got an email from transifex that this person created transifex for Misago, let me approve langs and translators. Few weeks late person has gone silent. It only reappeared year back for a bit to pass project's ownership to me
Thats the story in nutshell ;)
Anyway, I'll keep improving the translation and I'll let you know when it's perfect enough to make the pull request.
Thanks! Every bit of help I can get helps me a lot.
Hi,
I've just updated source files on transifex to include latest strings introduced by the Misago 0.8's profile fields feature.
How can I check translation in production?
I want to be sure, that translation is correct.
Hey Alex,
Checking something in production means checking it as its running on live site used by your users and its something you generally... don't do. ;)
What you should do instead is to locally run the Misago with custom LOCALE_PATHS set to point to directory containing your local translation files.
Forum is on server, so in my situation it's accessible for everyone :)
Thanks, I'll try.
I install misago by this tutorial: misago.readthedocs.io/en/latest/setup_maintenance.html and now I wan't localize it to russian. But I get this errors:
$ django-admin.py makemessages -l ru -e html,txt,py
CommandError: Unable to find a locale path to store translations for file avatargallery/README.txt$ django-admin.py compilemessages -l ru
CommandError: This script should be run from the Django Git checkout or your project or app tree, or with the settings module specified.
What I do wrong?
UPD: Just change in settings.py:
LANGUAGE_CODE = 'en-en'
to
LANGUAGE_CODE = 'ru-RU'
And now forum in russian language. :)
