I love that you separated these two things.
Ironically I suggested this at Xenforo.com just recently ... but you've already done it !

I like the Forum Map page. misago-project.org/forum-map/
so clean and fresh.
It was tempting to replace thread icon with avatar, but then I would have to use other way to convey "new posts" message to users, either by different effect on text or one more icon. I've didn't like that.
BUT I believe into into themes authors. One switch in forum settings will make Misago expose both thread's author and last reply's author data to threads lists, so if you want to put avatars on threads lists in your theme, you can.
Avatars are really popular and have a social feel.
If you want a list of new threads ... just click this:
IMO, I would not trade off a popular social feature for a duplication of what's new.
The fact that it's in Python instead of php, with proper .html templates stored as flat files.
Haven't gotten a chance to scan the source code fully yet, will do that tomorrow when I have the time. Really liking what you've done thus far, keep it up!
@DigitalDoctor Guess its matter of preference.
I like that Misago is powered by ponies.
I'm not a big fan of ponies but I can deal with it. :p
I like the fact that you can "like" and "hate" a post, but I don't know if "hate" is the best word to use there by default. ;)
"Hate" was used because its length is similar to "like". I taking what UI tells me with some distance, but looking how to many folk this is one of first issues... Oh well...
Yea I saw that thread shortly after I posted my reply. I understand why you used the word because you're still in the early stages of developing the software after all. :)
I've replaced "hate" with "dislike". All it took was small template edit.
Why not leave "Hate" in, and replace "Like" with "Love"? :D
Facebook has got "Like" and I belive that's okay to say "I absolutely LOVE this post!" ;)
In this case those both would have 4 chars, and would be exact opposite.
