Misago seems promising to me. I am interested in creating a forum that hosts long-form discussion, and which involves more deliberation than a Reddit sub or the average Discourse forum. It would be a semi-academic forum. Misago is clean, with lots of space to read and write. It offers pagination, and this is important to me. I am also tempted towards NodeBB, but they have no private messaging system, and this is a huge drawback.

One basic feature that is missing from Misago is a link within quotations, which takes you back to the original post being quoted. Long-form interaction would require this feature. Are there any plans for such a feature within Misago?

    Thanks!

    Hey!

That feature already exists in abandoned "rewrite everything" branch. All I have to do is to port it back to current version of Misago and then release it. But before that I would like to first port back the plugin hooks system from same branch, because of how intertwined hooks are with v4's parser.

So this feature will happen sometime this year. No ETA yet because there are few other things I would like to take care of first.

@rafalp - Great, thank you! I was wondering if something like that might have happened. :)
