    Misago 0.37 is now available.

This is a maintenance release that increases supported Python version to 3.12, updates Python dependencies and adds context markers to translation strings.

    Context markers for translation strings

In previous Misago releases translation messages didn't include context markers. This meant trouble for project translations because all translation messages were considered to have the same meaning, which is not the case in many languages. For example, in Polish language "Reply" could be translated to "Odpowiedź" or "Odpowiedz" (a verb or noun) depending on usage. This was not possible in previous versions where in translation files there was only a single "Reply" string to translate. Misago 0.37 addresses this.

This is a breaking change. If you relied on an existing translation for other language, it will not work out of the box with Misago 0.37. Existing translations on Transifex were moved to "Misago 0.36" project and new "Misago" project has been created for new translations.

    Known issues

    backup_db broken in misago-docker

misago-docker appears to use wrong version of postgresql-client package, which makes backup_db at the start of the update fail.

Thread options on new thread form broken

Using "Options" button on start new thread dialog currently has no effect. This is a regression introduced in recent change that removes prompt when user tries to close posting form that doesn't contain any changes.

Turns out Django long term support version I'm using in Misago doesn't support 3.12 and there may be subtle errors in things Misago's test suite is not checking, like Python's SMTP client. So next version will be Misago 0.38 with Django version updated to 4.2.
