This is not done instantly as it shows online even after closing of tab for few minutes? How is this implemented at the backend? Misago does not use websockets and why my authentication is being sent as XMLHttpRequest every few minutes. Does it has anything to do with online and offline?

Misago will show you as online if no more than 90 seconds have passed since your last request to the server.
