I am curious about is there any plan to add chat support to Misago? NodeBB forum has this support and I think this is necessary for a forum software. Of course, a forum is not an instant messaging solution, but there can be a lite chat solution here.

While Django 1.11 or 2.0 will bring solid support for websockets, chat's not something I consider must have for an forum and hence has no plans to implement myself.
But because next release will rely on django.contrib.auth for user system, it shouldn't be hard to eventually add one of Django chat apps yourself if you wish so.
